چکیده

Search engines have become an increasingly important educational tool. By just typing a few keywords into a search engine text-box, finding information has become an easy exercise. However, some people cannot use search engines effectively for various reasons. Students may not know how to choose proper keywords. They may have difficulty in selecting relevant information from millions of search results. In this paper, we propose a search engine system that shares search queries and browsing history among students. We refer to the search queries and browsing history as “community search logs”. This system analyzes these community search logs, and shares the students’ knowledge and experience with each other. Our purpose is to help students to improve their searching efficiency, especially those who are not good at searching.

Towards Virtual Knowledge Communities in Peer-to-Peer Networks

As a result of the anonymity in todays Web search, it is not possible to receive a personalized search result. Neither prior search results nor search results from other users are taken into consideration. In order to resolve this anonymity towards the search engine, a system is created which locally stores the search results in the scope of a peerto-peer network. Using the Peer Search Memory (...

Twolayered Architecture for Peertopeer Concept Search

Peer-to-peer search is an alternative to address the scalability concerns regarding centralized search, due to its inherent scalability in terms of computational resources. Concept search is an information retrieval approach which is based on retrieval models and data structures of syntactic search, but which searches for concepts rather than words thus addressing the ambiguity problems of synt...

A Peer-To-Peer Knowledge Sharing Approach for a Networked Research Community

The potential of efficient knowledge sharing in a peer-to-peer community is investigated by a case study of Journal Club with a peer-to-peer prototype developed using JXTA. As compared with the centralized approach of client/server, the decentralized approach is able to provide a more flexible environment that may be used as an addition or an alternative to share knowledge in a networked virtua...

Self-Organizable P2P Document Search Engine for Knowledge Management

Locating contents is an essential function, but it presents a very diÆcult and challenging problem for large-scale Peer-to-Peer (P2P) systems. Many P2P systems, protocols, architectures, and search strategies are proposed for this problem. In this paper, we focus on the selforganization of a community structure based on user preferences for P2P systems. We propose these methods to improve P2P s...

Learning Semantic Categories from Clickthrough Logs

As the web grows larger, knowledge acquisition from the web has gained increasing attention. In this paper, we propose using web search clickthrough logs to learn semantic categories. Experimental results show that the proposed method greatly outperforms previous work using only web search query logs.
